I have questions and suggestions, so this may be a long post sorry guys.
Questions:
Are members allowed to have a "chat" account? Meaning an account they don't use for role-playing, only for using on the other and ooc boards here.
Is any diversity welcome on the dragon species? For example, having a basic set of "species" to choose from, but allowing people to experiment and create their own species and subspecies as long as the admins/mods agree that the powers are balanced and that the character is not overpowered? I personally think you guys would get a lot more appeal to your place if you did something like this, as it allows people to get more creative and keeps every character different and interesting.
Suggestions:
First off, I'd suggest a better layout. Well, actually a layout. I'd look around to see if you know anyone who could do one, and you could always look at other sites that you support and ask them for a bit of help. Currently the site looks bland, with the exception of the bright blue colors you picked. I'd see if I could find my friend who's good at that sort of thing for you, but I'm not sure if she'd have time to work on anything or even if she could.
I'd also suggest advertising on more than the proboards forums and other role-play forums. I'd try places that a lot of role-players go to. I know that when me and a friend tried to get a site off the ground years ago we turned to neopets, though I'm not sure of the volume of dragon role-players there. Still, anywhere you can get members would help.
A true plot/setting would also make this place look better. Right now you have the idea of a famine and a war. Well, what caused the famine? Was it a pesky dragon who wanted control? Or was it an accident by a young dragon? Why did the war happen? It'd also be nice to have a full view of this whole world you've created setting wise, instead of any little snippet you give here and there. The more depth you give the plot and setting the better it is for people to include their character.
Also, last thing, I'd seriously reconsider the age cap on dragons. In general lore of dragons, they live for many, many years. A hundred years isn't that long. Also, just because a species is a dominate species does not mean that the members of the species instantly lost the gene that made them live for so long.
Some food for thought. And I'm really interested in joining, just want those questions answered.
