Water dragons live in an underwater cave complex or seaside caves with smaller ones seen in rivers and lakes. They need to breath air and can hold their breaths for long periods of time and can go for miles downward. They are led by the Dragon father of their species in a main underwater cave system. Water dragons don't mate for life and only once a year laying only one egg that is given to the father to care for then swim off. The father hides the egg in a nest made of seaweeds and grasses and kept underwater. When the egg hatches the hatch-ling stays at the nest site until s/he is strong enough to hold their breath and cling to their fathers shoulders. The father takes them to the main cave system to be raised with others and taught their powers. Water dragons control the water, lifting it into complex patterns, with more accomplished ones able to freeze the water into fantastic ice sculptures, and older ones able to change water currents in the direction they wish to travel faster.
